I am so sorry about the hiatus!!! 2 more weeks till graduation and I'm swamped with stuff to get done, thus I don't have much time to draw, ya know? eventually i'll get back to work... x.x;;

Hello all!

this account is dedicated to my comic, Sugar Cubed! ((actually written as "Sugar3", with the lil "3", as in the 3rd power. cute, ne? came up with it in chemistry class last year! ^.^;;

this story is being written for my Mentorship class. My topic of study is "Comic Book Design". For this class, I have written a 26 page paper, and I must create a product, a presentation and a portfolio full of the sources I've gathered my information from. fun, right? so for my product, I am creating this comic. even though I won't finish by May, I want to get all I can done so that I can print the issue and sell it over the summer after i get all the copyrights taken care of. so if anyone steals anything - like the title, characters, story, etc. - there WILL be legal action.

the story

Meet Mel (short for Melanie). She's 17 and it's the beginning of Senior Year! woo hoo! But unfortunately the year is starting off crappy. Her best friend has moved away, she's always fighting with this guy Lex in her Art class and she's still trying to figure out where she fits in.

But by lucky happenstance, she meets Sara and Kim, two girls very different from her and different from each other, and they find that they all like manga! Thus, Mel gets to telling them that she's been wanting to start her own series but she doesn't want to do it alone.... and Sugar Cubed is born!



what troubles and setbacks will they face?

The Future of Sugar^3:
I don't know how I'll be able to continue working on it after school ends. It'll be a while before I can afford a scanner of my own (I use the school's) and the Bristol paper is so expensive and I'm running out x.x;; i want to continue the story, but maybe I'll just go really ghetto and do it on regular sketchbook paper. I've decided that I also want to draw my speech bubbles - it just looks less computer-y.

So that's where I am. Will Sugar^3 live? After May, don't expect to see a lot of pages (unless I can use someone's scanner) and when pages do go up, hopefully they'll be more detailed and cooler looking in general.

[Edit]: good news! the pages that are up now WILL SEE PRINT. all the pages I finish will be put together buy a printing company in comic book form. this will probably happen over the summer since the comic will go on hiatus for a while.
